THIS PLACE IS THE BOMB. so many options, incredibly tasty food & healthy!Friendly staff, fast service. I've probably spent a good chunk of my salary here & do not regret it in the slightest. Try the pistachio mushroom soup! and the avacado/ spring rolls make for a good salad wrap on the go. :)

Not big vegan fans but we would see what it was about.... I ordered the summer rolls which were average as they were a bit plain. I ordered the king pao chicken which was surprisingly good. It had a really good sauce. My boyfriend had the quinoa burger which wasn't really something we would eat again...and wasn't a vegan converter. Overall good service, but not up our alley

After living in Fort Wayne for nearly four years, we finally decided to give this place a try based on a friend's recommendation. How can I get my four years back? This was easily the best new place I've tried in at least two years, Fort Wayne or otherwise. Ate there with two kids and they loved every bite as well. Loving Cafe has now moved up into my Top 5 Favorite Restaurants in town.

Not vegan or vegetarian. I'm a hard core carnivore. That being said, this place is very tasty. It smells terrific in there! I can't recall the names of the items we ordered, but I will post pictures of them. That's the best I can do. The people were absolutely so pleasant. Will definitely go back.

Pretty darn good food, and a whole lot of choices! It is always overwhelming when there are more than three vegan options... The prices weren't too bad and our food came out in great time! The one thing I don't like is that it is a lot of "meatless-meat" options, which I am not a fan of. However, still a decent restaurant! You order at the counter and they deliver it to you, so don't expect full service.

Visited the Loving Cafe on a recent visit to Ft Wayne. There were some definite hits and one item that fell short. On the positive side, the Blueberry Bliss smoothie was greatly enjoyed by my niece. I had a sip, and it's creamy blueberry taste had me wishing I had ordered one myself. Three of us had Asian dishes, and all three were tasty and more than filing. I especially enjoyed the Crystal Noodles, which were loaded with veggies and were also gluten free. My niece also ordered the "burger" and fries. The burger texture was off, and not up to par with the other items we had. Overall this is a great vegetarian/vegan option, especially for Fort Wayne.

My favorite place for vegan/vegetarian food in town! (Might be the only one in town haha) best place for lunch :) even if you're not vegetarian, this is a good place to check out if you're a foodie ! I would recommend the buffalo wrap (or any of the 3 different wraps they have). It's delicious!

I went here because I wanted vegetables. What i got was a huge selection of fake meat. If i wanted meat, I'd eat it. Very disappointed.

Great food that is a great healthy addition to the Fort Wayne area. Great menu options. I'm not vegetarian or Vegan and I love their food. Menu has something for just about everyone. Prices are reasonable for the ingredients and work put into the food. Should have listened to my wife as I was missing out.

We are Loving Cafe which we found on Yelp. We had out of town guests whose nutritional preference is vegetarian. Not knowing of any vegetarian places ourselves Yelp had Loving Cafe at the top of our list. It is a tiny quiet little place, but big on good food and couldn't be better service. Our guests loved it as did we. It will be a great place to go again.

Pretty tasty. Big menu with pictures on the tables, yet you have to order at the counter. I had the pistachio mushroom soup and it was hot and creamy, and delicious. My companion had the corn chowder and it had bell peppers, corn, broccoli, and cauliflower and was tasty. We both ordered a sandwich and they came with soup. He had the bbq chicken sandwich and I had the grilled pineapple with vegan patty sandwich. Both were super yummers. The soup was filling and I couldn't finish my sandwich. I pulled the pineapple out of half and just ate it for dessert it was so sweet. Delicious vegan dinner. The close a little early for my preference, location was simple enough to find. I'll be back!

Pleasantly surprised to find this in Fort Wayne. Great selection. Avocado Rolls were awesome. Kung Pao Tofu very good, Aloe Lemonade, NICE! Highly recommended Vegetarian. Atmosphere was what I would expect from a cafe, although vibe is a bit fast foodish (order your food at the counter, then is delivered to your table). Although, for this type of "save the planet" presentation, it's all good.

This place is heaven. When I'm not in Fort Wayne I dream about this food. I LOVE the portobello sandwich and golden soup. Their vegan cheesecake is the best I've ever had. I've never had something I didn't love here.

Food is good but not great. Their staff is hit or miss if you get someone friendly at the counter and sometimes you have to wait for someone to come out of the back kitchen to take your order (which I find annoying). The soups that I have had, have all been wonderful and their spring rolls are a MUST if you go their. However, some of their sandwiches are odd. I don't know if it is the vegetarian meat (which I usually like) that they use or the combination of ingredients that is on some of the sandwiches, but their is something just not quite right. I have been here at least 5 times and always end up trying a new sandwhich because I want to find one that I really like (since this is the only Vegan place in the area)... Which I haven't been able to yet. I will keep my fingers crossed but until then, will continue to enjoy the soups and spring rolls!

Great food, friendly staff. What more is there to say? Whether you are vegan, vegetarian, or just a plain old omnivore, you should be able to find something that you will enjoy!

This vegetarian/vegan restaurant was very good. I love the fact that the vast majority of the vegetables and sauces are all organic. No GMOs here and is a good thing. This place is a little expensive because of that fact, but I'm ok with paying more for quality ingredients. The vegan burger was super good and the Tofoturkey was also quite good. The real winner here though is the potato kale soup, delightful. I would defiantly come to this quaint little cafe.

I don't know why this place doesn't have 5 stars, what is there bad about it!!? My wife and I were traveling through town and were surprised to find an all vegetarian place, and overwhelmed once we got our food. The grilled pineapple sandwich was particularly great.

What a great location for people who like to eat food! It doesn't matter if you are vegetarian or not. This place offers high taste and fairly decent service. The food is the star of course! Everything I have ever tried has been absolutely delicious! The quinoa salad is superb! I now have to have it almost every time I come in. Many soups, sandwiches, and entrees are available for selection and each and every one of them I have tried is packed with wonderful flavor! Upon entering the restraunt, stop at the front counter to place your order. Take a look at the board as well as the menu. The menu has several options and might surprise you to know that this little place can make so many awesome dishes! After placing your order, you will receive a number to take with you to your table. You have the option of eating inside or outside the front of the cafe. I love coming here and trying something new every time. However, like I said... Somehow the quinoa salad continues to be a recurring visitor on my plate.

Awesome place with guilt free vegan food ....My favorite is the Happy Gyro. The only reason this is not a 5 star rating .......They close way to early and not just on certain days it's everyday ....If you are looking for dinner at about 6:45 on the weekend, cross this place off your list because it will be in the process of closing .......However if you can have a lunch or early dinner here .....I highly suggest it

First time at a vegan restaurant. The avocado rolls were delicious the sauce served with them was tasty. The potato soup was excellent even my teenage daughter ate it. The Yaki soba noodles were very good also. The chocolate cake was quite tasty and very rich. Will be back to try some other dishes.

Whenever I visit Fort Wayne, my Mom and I come here for lunch. It's soooo yummy. My Mom isn't a vegetarian, and she loves their vegan BLTs. My stepdad devoured my leftovers once not knowing it was fake meat. The golden soup is my favorite, and don't miss the vegan strawberry cheesecake. I've had the teriyaki and black bean sandwiches, and both are delicious. This is the only restaurant in Fort Wayne I look forward to visiting!

5 for the friendly service. 4 for the food. The 1st couple visits I tried different entrees all were good but then I tried the Teriyaki Tofu w/ pineapple, asparagus and various sweet peppers and I'm stuck. I find myself thinking about that pineapple and tofu once a week. Spring rolls are okay, and the protein steak pepper is pretty good too. Maybe I'll be able to try something else next time.

This place is great. The food is extremely fresh and there's a wide variety of options. The staff is also very friendly. It's nice and quiet in there, perfect for a lunch on your own to read or relax. I'm not vegan or vegetarian and I will go back again and again. I highly recommend ALL of the soups (yes, they're all delicious) and the aloe lemonade.

A vegan restaurant in Fort Wayne? Seriously? But it's great food, a wide selection of food you can't find even in places way cooler than FW (suck it, Ann Arbor!), and reasonably priced. It's true, they are part of a cult, but at least Supreme Master Ching Hai has her followers make vegan food instead of getting them to wall up in a compound somewhere.

Went here for the first time Saturday afternoon for lunch. Pleasantly surprised with the atmosphere in general! Very calm and zen. I'm definitely a meat lover and didn't even realize that my barbecue sandwich was vegetarian until half way through. I also ordered the potato kale soup, got delivered a bean soup by accident, was still really pleased, and ended up with both in the end so I took one home with the other half of my sandwich. The food was absolutely delicious, and I can't wait to go back. As far as price, it was just a tad above what I'd prefer to pay for a lunch, but once I found out that the business promotes recycled materials for to-go containers, sustainable foods, and that they cater to vegan friendly, gluten free menu, and still produce great quality, and tasting food with great presentation, I didn't mind so much.

Over the past year or so I've been turned on to the fact that you don't have to be vegan to enjoy their food! This cafe has a light, fun and friendly atmosphere. They have a great selection (it's particularly large but not off-putting) I would highly recommend the almond and broccoli soup and the panini. The spices and ingredients used are fresh and tasty. Their aloe lemonade will make your eyeballs tingle.

One of my very favorite places to eat when I'm seeking out something healthy. I first tried their food when they had free Happy Gyros at IPFW for Spring Fling several years ago. Since then, I've been hooked! I love taking new people here, and go out of my way to snatch a Happy Gyro and some spring rolls for dinner. Everything is extremely fresh and they promote sustainable foods. For meat lovers like me, you'd be hard-pressed to tell that their soy and tofu meat are imitations. The texture and flavor is simply perfect. I should expand to try more things on the menu, but I just adore the same things so much that I rarely get anything other than the Happy Gyro. But when I get out of my creature-habit-tendencies everything I have tried has been to die for. And the cheesecake... my god, man. GO! NAAAOW!

This is my second time here and I have to say that it's definitely a place you must stop for lunch/dinner if you are vegan/vegetarian and visiting or passing through Fort Wayne. It's also right off I-69, so it's close to the interstate if you are just passing though! The menu items are all reasonably priced so it's hard not to order more than one item off the menu. This time I ordered the Summer Rolls ($4.00) and the Vegan Wings & Soup ($8.50). I enjoyed both menu items and would order them again. Even if you plan on dining in, you still order at the counter and they give you a number to take to your table. If you haven't been here before (and probably even if you have) you will have to sit down to look over their multi-page menu before ordering at the counter. They offer so many menu items that it would probably take a very long time to try all of them. So many vegan options...a good problem to have! I noticed that they also have marked which items on the menu are gluten-free for those who follow a gluten-free diet. Check them out when you are in town!

We ordered the lemon meal, quinoa salad, summer rolls, two spring rolls and "beef and shrimp" udon. I'd say the best was the quinoa salad, which was surprisingly sweet, with fruit and nut mixed in, and affordable at $5. I am not a huge fan of fake meat products. I prefer meals of just legumes, nuts and veggies. For those who enjoy meat substitutes or meat imitation products, this is your place! Very friendly service. Only spent $23 for all of the above. Lemon meal came with a hardy amount of brown rice and veggies, which iloved, and My daughter liked the fake shrimp. Udon was enough to share.

Since I am Gluten Free, there were some limitations to the menu. I ended up getting the Ocean of Love, which came with Pineapple, Onion, Broccoli, and Bell Pepper, Sweet and Sour Tofu, a Side salad, and rice. It tasted amazing. As for the atmosphere, the TV has some sort of ASPCA channel, depicting the living conditions of factory chickens. Not something I wanted to watch while I was eating. There were a lot of the "Save the Planet" things too, but I suppose that made sense since it was a vegan cafe, after all. I forgot to mention that they have Chocolate Soy Milk. If you haven't had any before, you should definitely get it. It isn't anywhere near as thick as the store bought Chocolate Cow milk. This stuff is more watery but FAR more flavourful than regular chocolate milk. It is fantastic.

The BEST fake meat ever!! Seriously, it tastes like the real deal. I was in Fort Wayne Fort barely a week, and I've been here 3 times. I even ran for a to go order and almost ended up missing my flight! I've tried the BBQ entree, the BBQ chicken sandwich, glass noodles, spring rolls, summer rolls, the golden soup, and the white bean soup. Each dish was amazing! I particularly recommend the BBQ sandwich bc the texture of the soy protein is so similar to that of chicken! And, it was tangy and flavorful! The white bean soup was amazing! Very flavorful and not too heavy, unlike the golden soup, which is curry based. The spring rolls are so good! Yes, it's fried, but it doesnt leave an oily film in my mouth after eating it. Summer rolls are decent, but nothing special. I havent tried a salad yet, but I will one day! The reason for 4 stars instead of the 5 is bc their menu is inconsistent. Although they advertise a great selection, they dont offer certain sandwiches, appetizers, soups, and entrees. Makes me a lil disappointed when they didnt have the salad, soup, sandwich, or entree I initially wanted to try. The website is also hard to navigate. I like the pictures of the food, but I would prefer a detail description before viewing the actual picture. I love, love Loving Cafe so much that I would hop on that 5-6 hour flight back to Indiana!

We were looking for a new restaurant to try in Ft Wayne and hadn't even considered that we would find a vegan one. What a surprise and joy to find this gem. The options are generous. Taste is spot on. I recommend it!

good Vegan spot. The owners are environmental conscious and take it a bit too far with all the flyers and stuff. BUT ignore that as it is not in your face. I have a tendency to go wander around and look at the flyers and the brochures sitting at the cashier table. Otherwise I would not have noticed it. The food is really good and service is excellent.

I really enjoy this cute cafe, and I am not even naturally vegan. The food tastes great and healthy, plus the cafe offers a pleasant, cheery, dining experience with about 10 small tables. You basically order and pay at the counter, and they bring the food to you. Takeout is also possible and prompt. The udon noodles are currently my favorite!

I am giving them two stars because I have never had the chance to eat there. I try to live a vegan lifestyle and twice I have driven over to this restaurant during normal working hours only to find it closed. Each time they had a sign on the door stating that they were closed for this or that. One reason was because they went to a conference. I want to try this place, but now that I've tried twice, not sure I'll try again. Sincerely, frustrated vegan!

Had a very nice, inexpensive vegan meal here for dinner. Service was very friendly and atmosphere was clean and airy with some outside seating as well. Food wasn't overly fancy or fresh, but well prepared and tasty - I was very satisfied for the price. I had the corn chowder and vegan BLT. A great little place if your looking for an alternative to the fast food frenzy (you know those places will kill you, right?).

Quick update after a year: Good news: * The quinoa salad is a truly tasty treat that is unparalled in quinoa contests across the globe (or at least I envision this could be the case!) = 5 out of 5 stars! * Staff is super friendly = 5 out of 5 stars! * Interesting educational material on benefits of being meat free including environmental impact = 4 out of 5 stars! * Nice to see a local business thriving :) Not so good news: * I don't like anything other than the quinoa... or maybe the golden soup = 2 out of 5 stars * I've tried other stuff when I brought people there and we really didn't like the food - this is disappointing but I suppose personal taste based on the fact I do not like soft tofu or the lack of flavors as in the spring rolls and some other dishes * In general, I wish they would have more whole foods vs. the processed tofu as the more I learn about processed tofu, the less I realize I want to eat of it (unless it is my secret special reciped stolen from India where the tofu is marinated full of flavor and crispy!) = 1 out of 5 stars I digress, but all in all a bit of a downgrade and some encouragement to MAKE BIGGER BATCHES of QUINOA so you aren't sold out every time I come to order it! And, explore more WHOLE food and raw food/non processed vegetarian options....or you just end up reinventing a beast - maybe not a living one, but the processed junk is as bad for your gut (and often the environment when GMO soy is considered) as meat...okay, not AS bad, but you get the point. Keep on keeping on though as I do LOVE the energy, vision and opportunity for a place like Loving Cafe to thrive in the hippest town in the Midwest :) Oh, and add a little take out quinoa spot downtown for me, will ya?

The food is great, and the prices are as low as it gets, average is about $5 for a meal. The fresh ingredients are excellent, and every dish looks good, I had a difficult time choosing. The place is very small, only about 10 tables, and very simple. Even if you are not vegan, it is worth a try. After coming here a few times, I decided the soups are the best choices, and I'm not really a big fan of the fake meat shape compressed gluten/tofu items.

Whoa. Am I in Fort Wayne? Really? Because this place rivals any of the other large city vegan restaurants or small hippie havens. The food here is INCREDIBLE. I ordered a basic salad, soup, and smoothie, and they were all 100% delicious and 100% fresh. I have never seen or tasted anything quite so fresh before. I am actually in awe? I will unashamedly be visiting here hopefully once a day from now on. The workers were incredibly sweet and nice, and I could hear them chopping my food up all fresh like in the back. I don't doubt that every single thing on the menu is full of total deliciousness.

If I could give 6 stars, I would! This place is wonderful, and it makes me upset that we don't have a Loving Cafe at home. The decor is vibrant, and bright. It is a small space within a newer strip mall setting. I was kind of scared walking up to the door, seeing the spring greens peering back at me, that this was going to be a manufactured veg spot, like Moaz or Zen Burger...but it's not. The menu is Asian based, with the majority of the dishes being adaptations of classic Chinese and Malaysian meals, using all vegan ingredients. They had a few non Asian dishes, which I had decided I was intent on trying, since I do veg Asian all the time. The panini and soup combo was suggested to me, and so it was. I also got a veg chicken spring roll (Vietnamese style), a blueberry smoothie (cashew, agave, etc), and a pineapple cupcake...hey, I was hungry, don't judge me! Food came out promplty, and I cannot express how delicious it was...the sandwich had smoked veg turkey, slaw, vegan cheese, and avacado. The bread was only called "special bread", and tasted of sourdough. The soup was sweet potato, lentil, curry awesomeness. The spring roll was great, tons of veggies rather than rice noodle filler. It wad served with a peanut-soy sauce, was laden with cilantro...which I love. The cupcake was light, and fluffy...unlike most vegan cookie/cakes I make at home, with a decedant cream icing. I really over ordered, but I come across good vegan joints very rarely in the Midwest, so I took advatage. The place is family run and operated, and they take great pride in their food and philosophies. I loved seeing the kids running around, and helping when they could. A bit of warning...the philosophies of Loving Cafe could be a bit much for some. They follow the beliefs of Supreme Master Ching Hai, which I have seen at other Asian vegan spots, mostly in NYC and CA (Vegetarian House in San Jose for example). It is a religious based vegan ideal, and can get as annoying/militant as Greenpeace or PETA...ok, not really ;) They do play Supreme Master TV in the restaurant though, which is a constant influx of vegan ideals and lecturing. The program also shows some unpleasant images with regards to animal processing. It could turn some off, but keep your back to the TV, your mouth shut and enjoy the great food! I cannot say enough good things about this place, and I hope they are around fir a long time. Go veg, go green, save the planet! Haha...you'll know when you go there ;)

I just moved to the area from Chicago. I was worried I wasn't going to have many vegetarian (let alone vegan) places to patron in Fort Wayne. Well, after my first visit today to Loving Cafe, I was able to cast aside those doubts. Knowing this place exists, I can now more comfortably settle into my new community. The service was so genuine and friendly. The food was probably the best vegan food I've ever had. So, so good. I had the "cheesy" quinoa and potato kale soup. It was incredibly satisfying. I walked out paying less than $10 for a healthy, sustainable meal. I'll so be back.

Love this place! It was recommended by a non-vegan couple, who raved and raved about the sandwiches. I was so excited I ordered way too much food but the leftovers were great. Luckily, I also got to sample all of the food the people in my party ordered. Everything was top notch. The mushroom pistachio soup was worth bathing in. As everyone has said here on Yelp, super fake meat. Thai sweet tea = YUM. The Supreme Master TV and propaganda is a lil kooky but reminded me of being in Asia. Thumb threw the books on the display case if you have time. The staff was amazingly friendly and must have thought we'd never seen food before...but where I come from...we don't see food. We see greasy burger joints and gravy buffets. Bring a Loving Cafe or Loving Hut to Mid Michigan please.

YAY for vegan fare in Fort Wayne. (!!) The service at this small cafe is 5 star. The lady behind the counter is highly accomodating, and simply adorable. She remembers her frequent customers and greets them by their first name as they walk through the door. She is excited & passionate about offering fresh, organic, vegan foods to her guests. Instantly upon entering the building, I knew I was gonna get some damn good food. And I did. The food is 5 star. Between 2 of us, we ordered 6-7 different items off the menu. Everything looks so damn good, we simply couldn't decide on just one or two items. WE LOVED EVERYTHING. I will not fail to mention that we ordered 2 days worth of food for around $30. Cheap. I live in Chicago and will never visit Fort Wayne without going to Loving Cafe again. Aaaaand every time I visit I will order extra food to bring back to Chicago with me.

I am not a vegan. I would like to be, but I really, really need a good burger occasionally. While on my lunch from a not so fabulous temp job, I drove by the strip mall that houses this cafe. LOVING cafe. Oh, I need some Loving for sure. I turned around and thought I would try it. I had no idea what to order, so the super sweet lady behind the counter helped me. "You have spring roll, you have special cabbage soup. You like" I actually loved it. I also loved the soothing asian music and the fact that she came out to make sure I liked it twice. I felt loved. I will be back.

Let's just say this restaurant is the best vegan food in the entire state of Indiana! I first found out about this place from my lovely mother who lives in Ft Wayne. I Drive all the way from indy to eat here. The atmosphere is lovely and bright along with the employees. The food is fresh and delicious. My favorites; curry soup, bean soup, I love the Panini sandwich, the barbeque fo chicken, the noodle dishes are to die for too! Everything about this golden vegan jem of a restaurant sings to my soul! And belly!

Fort Wayne Vegans/Vegetarians rejoice! A animal-free restaurant AND it's good too! I've eaten here numerous times and the only "bad" meals I've had are just ones my palate doesn't care for. I recommend the Lo Mein, the Portabella Sandwich, Corn Chowder, and the wraps. You will not be disappointed - carnivores and vegans alike.

Very excited to have found this place! There are a ton of options, and the food is pretty good! I got spring rolls, potato kale soup, bbq nuggets, and a zucchini muffin. I didn't give a 5-star rating because: 1) my BBQ Nuggets had a small spiral piece of metal-looking thing in it! (I took it out and contined to eat... was very delicious otherwise!) and 2) the potato kale soup was curdled and tasted like a thicker, sweeter version of creamy chicken noodle soup... i think... dont know if i'd get it again. Also, the menu is very extensive but I dont think they make everything listed on the printed menu all the time- there was a pieced-together laminated menu on the wall with selections from the printed menu, and I found the prices to be a little higher than I expected. I will definitely return another time to try some other things, though!!!

This place offers a wide variety and vegan and vegetarian food that made my husbands eyes bulge out and start to water. He couldn't stop turning around to tell me all the menu items he wanted to try. I'll have to admit I'm a carnivore at heart, but my husband could easily be vegetarian. Sadly for him, I'm the cook. Anywho, this place was great and reminded me of home (Cali). It's nice to see this place has found a home in FW and is offering cheap eats for those in the market for a vegetarian meal. I was shocked how inexpensive our meal was, and the portions were perfect. In fact we over did it ordering an Appetizer with our lunch. I loved their Summer Rolls. We will be coming back soon. My husband has already picked out what he wants next time. :)

Wonderful vegan food! I'm a carnivore, and I love the food here! The teriyaki chickenless sandwich with choice of soup (my fav is corn chowder) is the best. Their vegan springrolls are very good. They only cook to order, so allow plenty of time for them to create your order!

I'm not a strict vegan or vegetarian but do not eat a whole lot of meat. If I could eat at Loving Cafe every day I wouldn't even miss meat! I've been here twice now and have had the BBQ sandwich, the Harmony sandwich, the white chili, and the spring rolls. On the sandwiches, the faux meat is perfect, the vegetables are fresh, and the bread is toasted perfectly. The spring rolls and white chili leave nothing to be desired. They are perfect in every way. The staff are friendly and courteous. The atmosphere is cafe-like with a few tables available for outside seating as well. I highly recommend this restaurant to vegans, vegetarians, and meat eaters alike.

I've been a vegetarian for 20 years and had despaired of Fort Wayne ever having this type of restaurant. Despair no more! Food is flavorful and varied; Indian, Chinese, Thai and American, the choices are fantastic. I've brought many of my carnivore friends to check it out and I take immense pleasure in watching their astonishment as they take their first bites! Some of the "fake" meat is so realistic that they can't tell it's not meat! The atmosphere is very calming and pleasant, as are all the staff. If you want to see how easy it is to eat healthfully and cruelty free, check them out!

I ordered a veggie noodle dish and, at first, I thought, "This tastes like something you'd get in a mall foodcourt..." but then I realized that they deserved a bit more credit: the veggies were indeed fresh and good. It's just that the combination (nothing special noodles + nothing special sauce) was mediocre. The menu is vegan, and it's a great cafe if you actually like meat and want to eat it, but choose not to b/c of your values (i.e., don't want to harm animals). It's NOT a great menu if you actually could happily live without meat. There is "fake meat" (i.e., shaped/colored/flavored tofu) in every single dish. And the cooking methods aren't necessarily "healthy," i.e., lots of fried, saucy dishes. I think most vegetarians would be grossed out by the meat stand-ins. Anyhow, the biggest thing to note, if you are new to the place, is that they do a pretty overt job of promoting the vegan philosophy, with the literature around the restaurant and the TV programming. If you are not open to the message, you may not be able to stomach the meal.

Riding back to Michigan from Indianapolis, I worried that as a vegetarian I'd be SOL for hundreds of miles. What, I wondered, might get me through the four hour drive? I decided I might be able to make do with a Panera, so when I found the sign at the highway exit, I sucked it up and drove toward the chain. The best news is that I never could find the Panera on that Ft Wayne exit. Instead I found Loving Cafe, tucked at the end of a strip mall, advertised by the "Meat Free Monday" sign. My curiosity was piqued. Could this place be the proverbial oasis in the desert? Indeed it was, as is. The menu was extensive; the prices scary reasonable -- almost too low. The Thai red curry soup was spicy and satisfying; the spring rolls fresh. Service was quick and friendly. I only gave it four stars because of my single visit. The next time I'm in the area, I'll come very hungry and plan to buy some take out for the next day. This is the kind of place that deserves to be supported. Enjoy!

This place is awesome. Coming from California on business I did not expect to find a vegan restaurant in Indiana. The food was excellent (I had the teriyaki sandwich and pistachio and mushroom soup). I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in town

  • Katy A.

The food here is pretty good and at a very low price... definitely cheaper than most places around Fort Wayne that aren't even half as healthy. The food here isn't super fancy and seems like it is more for a transitional vegetarian/vegan because most items on the menu have fake meat in it (which is my only complaint). As a vegetarian, broke college student, and someone living in an area that doesn't cater well to vegetarians/vegans, I will definitely be going back!

This little cafe is very cute! Although, when it came time to order our food, the owner (at least i'm assuming he was the owner) was rude. He thought it was best to train his staff right in front of us rather than wait on his customers. He did not even greet us. His staff on the other hand were very polite and nice. I had the Elevation and thought it was very delicious! I dont agree on serving the meal with the ice cream but oh well. Guess you have to go back and order it when you're ready. I'd go ago, but not any time soon. Its a once in a blue moon cafe for me.

GO! NAAAOW!

And belly!

The gluten-free vegan chocolate cake was amazing! The service was also good. The veggie burger was not as good however. I would go back.

I love this place. It offers a great variety and I haven't been disappointed yet. Their spring rolls are delicious. My only complaint- slow service. I can't get in and out quickly enough to run there for lunch.
